I think most crafters tend to accumulate extra bits of supplies. Spinners do the same - I have lots of extra fiber waiting for me to make something wonderful out of it all.
For this batt I gathered a lovely taupe New Zealand Romney roving, a Merino/mohair blend, and blue-ish sari silk. I weighed them to make sure it's a little over 100g (sometimes you lose a little in the carding process). Then I ran them through my drum carder alternating the colors to make a big batt. This will spin into a smooth colorful yarn.
This batt weighs 106g/3.7oz and contains:
- approximately 30g Merino/mohair blend in blues and purples
- approximately 70g taupe New Zealand Romney roving
- sari silk
These fibers are not superwash so this batt will felt.
Each batt is made by me in my dog-friendly craft room - although none of the supplies are on the floor or within her reach. Each batt is unique and special!
I have done my best to accurately capture all the colors, but color may differ slightly on each screen.

Most of my sewing has to wait until evening after a full day of schooling and playing with kids so it's difficult to do custom orders. I hope that as my kids get older, and I get more sleep, I can resume accepting custom orders!
