I think most crafters tend to accumulate extra bits of supplies. Spinners do the same - I have lots of extra fiber waiting for me to make something wonderful out of it all. For these batts I gathered up mixed fibers in colors that I thought looked pretty together. I weighed them to make sure I have 100g (sometimes it ends up a little off, it's the nature of the art batt). Then I ran them through my drum carder with some extra sparkle and/or sari silk waste layered in between to make a big colorful batt. This will spin into a mostly smooth single, with the little bits from the sari silk making tweedy bumps.
This batt weighs 107g and contains:
- Corriedale wool
- Falkland wool (white)
- Icelandic wool (white)
- Mystery wool (from some colorful roving)
- Sari silk waste
These fibers are not superwash so this batt will felt.
Each batt is made by me in my dog-friendly craft room - although none of the supplies are on the floor or within her reach. Each batt is unique and special!
I have done my best to accurately capture all the colors, but color may differ slightly on each screen.

Most of my sewing has to wait until evening after a full day of schooling and playing with kids so it's difficult to do custom orders. I hope that as my kids get older, and I get more sleep, I can resume accepting custom orders!
